HireDS Opens Pre-Registration for Veterans interested in attending its "Be a Hero, Hire a Hero" 2011 Veterans' Career Expo; Veterans seeking employment encouraged to register online today

No Greater Sacrifice and New York City Business Leadership Network to lend their support

    NEW YORK, NY, October 12, 2011 /Human Resources PR News/ -- HireDS, LLC - a certified disabled owned company promoting the inclusion of our Veterans and people with disabilities into mainstream employment - today opened registration for Veterans and their families seeking employment at its "Be A Hero, Hire A Hero" Global Veterans Career Expo, being held on November 7th in New York City aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, as well as running virtually online simultaneously and for thirty days thereafter spanning military bases around the globe.

The 2011 Veterans Career Expo is being held in partnership with No Greater Sacrifice and the New York City Business Leadership Network. This Expo represents the ongoing commitment by HireDS to link qualified Veterans and their families - including Wounded Warriors - to the employers seeking to hire them. It comes on the heels of the highly successful career expo held on May 24th at the New Yorker Hotel. Between 3,000 and 4,000 Veterans are expected to participate.

"We strongly believe in the HireDS motto, 'Giving all that want the opportunity to succeed; the chance to succeed,' because it embodies the American principle that should be afforded to all qualified job seekers," said Jeff Klare, President & CEO of HireDS. "By pre-registering for the November 7th expo and virtual job fair, Veterans and their families will be linked to employers seeking to hire potentially hundreds of positions."

Pre-registration is available online at: http://www.beahero-hireahero.com/registration.html.

According to Klare, there are numerous reasons why Veterans and their families seeking gainful employment should pre-register for the November 7th Expo, or Virtual Job Fair, including:

• Access to major corporations from all major economic sectors recruiting qualified candidates;
• Network with potential employers and other Veterans; and
• Gain valuable expertise in educational workshops (onsite only aboard Intrepid).

The unemployment rate among Veterans has remained disproportionately high, staggering around 13.4% - more than 4 percentage points higher than the national average - according to the latest figures released by the U.S. Department of Labor. There are over 1 million military Veterans currently unemployed.
